T-75 days: If you don’t plan your time…

Posted on 24th September 2008, 12:54pm

My gosh, its 75 days left. I’ve been busy the last five days. I did get some stuff sorted out online and its moving forward, but I just feel its still not fast enough.

The weekend was good, but I can really be more focused. I NEED to be more focused. 75 days left to the day… which means I have only 44 days to get things up running and generating cash.

These two days, I’ve had seen what I think deserve to be called a “slow death”.

Its called “commitment to an employer!”

Man! Yesterday I reached office to find an email saying that there is a company meeting after office hours yesterday evening. I was informed just yesterday morning!

And although it seems like many of my colleagues have been informed previously, I’m sure that there are a couple who just got to know the news at the same time as me, yesterday morning.

And they just let that one email message rob 3-4 hour of their time away from their loved ones.

Luckily for me, I have already planned my schedule. In fact, I now have exact plans on exactly what I need to accomplish everyday - that leaves me no time to be in a dilemma whether I should spend waste my time in a company meeting making shareholders rich.

I may not accomplish what I have planned, but at least I’m working on them.

I think it is very important to learn to prioritize in life - its not about being lazy or stubborn about not working, but there needs to be time for work and play. In work, there needs to be time to work for money, and work to build assets.

Don’t you think so?

Of course, needless to say, I didn’t attend my company meeting. In fact, in my 4 and a half month stint in the company I am working in, I only really stayed for a meeting once, or twice - those were the days which I happened to have a free agenda for the evening.

I’ve learnt that if you don’t plan your time, someone else will plan it for you. And its probably not going to be productive to your life.

Yesterday, I met up with my girlfriend and sat down and I created my first Blogopreneur newsletter. There is still some minor amendments to make before it goes live, but its an achievement.

… anytime better than that dying slowing in the company meeting.

I’m sorry if this offends you as an employee. I’ve nothing against being an employee. I am an employee. I just am more committed to my freedom and having a great live with my loved ones than to having a job.
