T-39 Days: The Power of a Focused Mind

Posted on 29th October 2008, 11:19am

Over the weekend, PX and I attended a 2 day workshop on understanding and harnessing the subconscious mind. While many of the concepts are not new to me – I’ve heard them some place or another, the workshop was still an eye opener, because I witnessed with my very own eyes and experienced things that really originally seemed impossible to me.

I will not divulge the details of the course too much, and I’d just say it was well worth it. At least, it changed the attitude of that little (powerful) voice at the back of my head.

Taking this forward – I took three points to implement on a daily basis.

I set goals and believe that I can achieve these goals. – One thing I needed to improve on was the way I was setting goals. Yes, I do set goals… and these goals used to be big goals, so much so that it was easy for me to totally give up on them because they were too unbelievable.

I review and reflect everyday before I sleep. – I learnt that the reason why review and reflections work is not only because we do it deliberately, but also because we do it right before we sleep, when our brain is at an optimal state of absorption to the subconscious mind. I’ve learnt how subliminal programming works, and I’ll be maximizing my sleeping time by programming myself for success even when I am sleeping!

I send the correct messages to my mind – As the master trainer said “The way you do anything reflects on the way you do everything.”, and it is the small simple things that define our destiny over a lifetime.

As an example, I am sometimes very frugal with myself when I have my meals. At the same time, the message that I have been sending is “I got no money to eat a good meal!“…. since this is the case, no wonder my finances are like it is today!

The point is not about not being frugal, but a change in the message. Instead of the previous message, I’m going to deliberately change the message to “I’m accumulating my wealth for better use.“. This takes being frugal to a whole new perspective and makes me a happier person!

Of course, this is just one example. These little changes go a long way when implemented every day.

Oh yes… this T-39 days thing. Is it going to work? Am I really going to leave my job and start a brand new life? We’ll see what these tiny changes can do to me within coming days this week!
