T-38 Days: Passion for Thought, and Working the Numbers

Posted on 31st October 2008, 2:39am

Whoa! Its 2am already. For the past 3 days, I have been knocking off work on time (well, max OT 20min), heading home and working on the web projects that I am working on.

And for the past 3 days, I’ve not slept earlier than 2am. Heh.

Somehow, I still like IT. (I know, you are going like… “DUH!”)

No, really.

After these three days of work, I don’t feel drained. In fact, my thoughts on the train to and from work are always leaning more towards my excitement about the projects I am going to undertake. These goals I’ve set for myself this time ARE different.

Its like what my mind power mentor taught – its that kind of goal that gets you moving.

I like what I do. :)

Oh, about work. I was thinking – since my annual wage supplement is going to be on or before Jan 15, it would be totally stupid to leave the company in end December. So it would either have to be early December (meaning I submit my resignation when I see my big boss next Monday), or it will have to be after Jan 15.

(and I’m not expecting a good AWS two months down the road considering the economy and the fact that many of the company clients have a base in US…)

Just trying to be a little bit more financially smart here.

Based on my own calculations, if I work until post Jan 15, I get about $21.44 more in my wage everyday. Its not a lot, but its money, and I need to learn to appreciate a single cent… (its a subconscious mind message thing) Well, let’s see. So if by Monday I can not guarantee that I can make the same amount I am going to earn from 1 Dec – 15 Jan by working by myself full time, then I will have to bear with the extra 45 days of work.

45 days is a lot of time. Its about 35 days of work which is 297.5 hours of grunt computer work.

Hmm… That makes it an hourly increment of $2.522?!

Heh. I feel darn motivated to put in the paper on Monday. Let’s work for it!
