Hangups about Money

Something happened today that made me think. It seems to me like many people have a lot of hangups about money. Its like a taboo topic that is only discussed behind closed doors.

Does it embarrass you to say “I am doing this because of money?”. Why so?

The fact is money is a prime motivator in many things we do. Afterall, would you go to work if your boss doesn’t pay you? Probably not. Money is good. It can buy good things for good people. Money can make people happy. Money can save lives.

Its not about greed, its about a fair trade of value.

To be frank, I used to have that perspective too. That is changed now. I think its a lot about self worth. Many people don’t feel that they are providing enough value to deserve the money they earn. On the other hand, over the hawker tables over lunch, they curse and swear at their bosses for the pile of work they have been tasked to complete.

Such a big contradiction.

So I’m telling you now… I simply love money and money loves me! If you have any hangups about money, donate to me lah!

Now I finally understand why Ernest Wong told us to say the “I love money and money loves me!” thing back in 2004 when I attended the MoneyMastery Boot Camp. Should re-attend next year. Any MM grads wanna join me?

and YES… I am extending my full time work by 2 more weeks so I can get my pro-rated AWS. So what? Is there a need to be discreet about that? Its a sum of money which I can use to make people happy. Why not?
