When I was at LCCT

(this post was written in KLIA LCCT on 18 Feb 2009)

Whoa, its been some time since I blogged, and even though its really been just over two weeks, A LOT of things have happened since the last time I did!

Very important events, too. ;) More about that super important thing later, though.

I’m actually typing this into a notepad file, in Kuala Lumpur at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) food court. I’m alone, with just one haversack and one formal jacket. Couldn’t find any Internet connection, hence typing in notepad. I’ve reached KL last night, on a late AirAsia flight, and managing to check into the hotel only at midnight this morning!

This is my “shortest trip to KL” in my life. Left Singapore last night at 2140hrs, and my flight back later is 1950hrs, reaching Singapore in by 2050hrs. Cool. To KL and back (including travelling time) in 24 hours.

This hotel stay was also the shortest hotel stay in my life! Checked in at midnight, checked out at 0830hrs. Wadda waste of money… heh! But its reimbursed.

So why did I come here!? It was a TechBiz Central business trip! What happened was that one of my clients has a director who is a Malaysian.

After working on a project with him since last November, he was very satisfied with my work, and he planned this whole trip to get me to talk to his clients in Malaysia.

It is very good exposure, and I really liked friendliness in the group. The group I spoke to were all business owners, directors of companies, CEOs… entrepreneurs, and it really feels good to know that my 3 hour talk earlier on Web Marketing Essentials was useful for them.

In fact, they liked it so much, they are going to invite me back again – this time to discuss work on their websites on a one by one, case by case basis.

Wow.

Doing business in KL… now that IS something new for me.

But I think this is also a lot of hard work paid off – providing great service for my customers and making sure their needs are met. It really feels AWESOME, I tell you :) I didn’t expect my business to expand so fast. Now I have a GOOD problem at hand – having time to work on the projects I clinch!

I have to seriously think about employing or working with someone good, so I can focus on getting the sale. Gee… I actually like sales now?

So happy.

Alright… Its 1750hrs, and I’m going to check in now. Will have more time later waiting for boarding, so type more later!

(part 2 @ 1900hrs, LCCT)

Okay, I’ve checked in, cleared customs and waiting to board the plane in 1/2 hour. I just got a call from my client that 4 or 5 of the people in that group (of about 10) wants me to work with their website! Oooh! :) And so I’ll be arranging to come back here again, and it will be really really soon!

I feel travelling alone is kind boring, especially when its a business trip. But I guess in these dire economic times, I need to learn to appreciate every opportunity given to me, like this one. Hopefully in future trips, I can bring my fiancee ;) together with me.

I’m going to shut my laptop and read my book now. I’ll have more work to clear tonight when I reach Singapore. :)

** HURRAY! **
